Download our first newsletter find out why we have been in the news How was it done and why? The estate has been in the present owner's family for three generations and to protect the long term interests of the area a unique project was developed. Each plot owner will become a beneficiary of the trust and agrees to allow the trust to manage the land on their behalf. Nowhere else can you take a virtual flight across miles of landscape in such high detail and then buy a plot of it. You can see Glengarry in both summer and winter views. From first concept to completion it took almost two years to complete and involved flying the glen and photographing it at 4 times the detail of Google Earth. Below the specially fitted aircraft with Tim the photographer and the pilot.
The land is being sold in 1m or 9sq feet plots, to help conserve the river, forest and pathways. A smaller sum is also going to the owners of Invergarry Castle to help with on going preservation costs. This is the ancient seat of a famous branch of Clan Donald, the MacDonells.

Who else owns plots of land? .The project was formally launched on July 20th 2009 at a reception at The Dog Pool home of the original Glengarry Highland Games. The photo below show 8 members of Clan Donald holding their title deeds and information packs. They are standing on the plots of land they own. Enter 197114 into the plot finder above the aerial view on the home page and you will be taken to where they were standing. Make sure the button "Show Owners" is ticked.
Later at a lunch at the Glengarry Community Hall Paul Williamson signed the Trust Deed which formally put the care and management of the land into the hands of the Conservation Trust. The story generated so much interest that it was covered on BBC TV Scotland and in the national press.
